For example a size 28carbon prosthetic foot will not measure solely 28cm in length. It will measure 28cm when it is used with correct shell. In other words the rubber shell will always be longer than the carbon foot. Carbon foot size = carbon foot length + rubber footshell length. The manufacture’s designates size that is located on the carbon foot is considering the extra length when the item is used with the correct rubber shell.
