Description: Way back before the Internet, when something happened that was news, you saved the newspapers or the magazines. You cut out the article from it or kept the whole thing. You stashed it carefully away so your kids or grandkids would have that bit of history when they were grown up. Now the Internet does it all for us. But the saved material remains. And I found some in a box at my house. There wasn’t a real plan of preservation; they were just put in a safe place. So they show age and some fragility. There is some damage, but not anything serious that I know of – the news articles seem all still intact. (I’m trying to handle the newspapers as little as possible.) These are two issues from the January 20 and 21, 1981, DALLAS MORNING NEWS, founded in 1885 and still in business. The Pulitzer Prize-winning publication is said to have one of the 20 largest paid circulations in the United States. These two issues focus on the release of the American hostages in Iran and the inauguration of Ronald Reagan. One contains Section A through page 8; the other contains all of Section A plus Freedom, a six-page section about the hostages. Questions? Please e-mail before bidding. Winner will pay for USPS Priority Mail shipping. I gladly combine shipping for multiple purchases.
