Description: Used and serviced. There are many scratches, so please look at the pictures carefully. The most severe damage is on the front corner, on the top left. I try to take pictures in the brightest lighting conditions to better show the condition, but it does have the effect of making items look worse than they do in person. I couldn't find any functional issues with it though. I was using it as my surround preamp for almost 2 weeks and without issue. The aftermarket remote has all major functions. Please see the included sheet for button mappings. Updated to the latest firmware. The service performed was almost a full recap of the electrolytic capacitors, which it very much needed. The voltage regulator on the digital board was causing audio dropouts and crackling sound, so it was replaced. The audio output board had most of the chips reflowed due to a bad connection. I used Wurth Electronik capacitors, and a texas instruments lm317 for the voltage regulator. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I ship via fedex or ups, which you can choose when you pay. I wanted to mention that the voltage regulator in question seems to have failed from being so hot. It runs about 120C, which while inside the recommended temperature range, it's just inside. The maximum recommended is 125C. The data sheet says it can go up to 150C, but it's not recommended. I mention this because while it lasted roughly 10 years, I feel it could have had a much longer life with a fan. I added a fan output (but no fan) to the power supply board. This is actually already included in the sister model, the RSX-1562. The service manual shows the unpopulated headers to make this happen, so I just installed them. I tested a 40mm fan added above the zone out board (attached via zip ties to the mounting holes), and even with a low noise adapter, it dropped the temperature to 80C. You could also add a 120mm fan on the other side, near the power input, which would cool even more components. The header takes 2 or 3 pin fans. You could use a 4 pin, but the mounting screw gets in the way. The positive pin is marked on the board, so be careful to connect the fan the correct way. I wanted to leave the option up to the buyer whether to install a fan or not, and of what kind. You could go without it, as originally designed, but you may eventually have the same problem with that voltage regulator. If I managed the listing as I had hoped:Picture 3 shows the overall view.Picture 4 shows the voltage regulator that was replaced, with heatsink.Picture 5 shows the fan header.Picture 18 shows the display in a test mode to see that it's working properly.
