Description: Up for sale here is this update kit for the Sansui AU-919 amplifier. The Sansui AU-919 (and many other vintage Sansui amps) used a number of small black square polystyrene capacitors known as "black flag" capacitors. These go bad over time, and when they go bad the irreplaceable output transistors can blow up. It is very important to replace these "black flag" caps to preserve the amplifier. This kit includes replacements for all of the black flag caps in the AU-919. It is not a complete rebuild or recap kit. There are several different versions of the AU-919, with varying numbers of black flag capacitors. This kit includes enough to replace all black flag caps in any version of the AU-919. This kit includes 31 new TDK C0G 100v ceramic capacitors, enough to replace all of the "black flag" caps in the Sansui AU-919. These are non-polar, so they can go in either way. All you have to do is desolder the old caps and solder in the new ones--there are no adjustments to make or anything. These new caps are pretty tiny, but will fit nicely in the circuit boards. They are very high-quality caps, and will work great for you. You will need the usual tools--soldering iron, desoldering tool, Philips screwdriver, wire cutters, needlenose pliers.
