Description: A fantastic original WW2 British map from "OPERATION OVERLORD" entitled "CHERBOURG & CAEN" (D-Day's two primary objectives). A highly sought after sheet featuring the entire D-Day Landing Beaches area, which bears operational markings showing developments in the Allied frontline from the initial 'break out' phase to the pursuit towards the Falaise Gap. Printed in March 1944. In decent 'field used' condition, with a few notes in the margin and dozens of tiny pin holes (see photos). Some of these pin holes had snagged slightly, so I have secured a couple of them with very small squares of a clear specialist acid free (non-yellowing) archive repair tape of the kind used by museums etc. A great piece of History in good honest condition. Will be shipped as per its existing fold lines. Please see my other WW2 (and WW1) maps, photos, documents etc. (Seller's Ref - TG1024 / 2)
